Islamic Art Demonstrations

Artists Mobeen Akhtar and Amber Khokar will showcase their work and demonstrate a variety of techniques throughout the day.
Artist Led Tours

Join artist Sara Choudhrey for a guided tour of the Manifesting the Unseen exhibition and gain an insider’s perspective on the artworks displayed.
Poetry Recital & Closing Reception
(3pm - 4pm & 4pm - 5pm)
Join poets Nazneen Ahmed, Saraiya Bah, Rakaya Fetuga and Muneera Pilgrim for performances of new work created especially for our exhibition.
Manifesting the Unseen is an arts & culture project that seeks to remove barriers and reveal hidden truths by creating a discursive space to experience the unique artistic language of Islamic art and its modern cultural expression.
We are now delighted to announce the next stage of our journey which will see us bringing our exhibition to Southampton City Art Gallery in May 2021. In response to the new show, the collective have produced new work inspired by the city’s maritime history and its reputation as a ‘Gateway to the world’.
Covid - 19 Update: Southampton City Art Gallery will be re-opening to the public on the 28th May 2021. The gallery are making sure that cleaning and safety protocols are in place for visitors to safely enjoy their visit.
